Bridges On The Coquet

ROTHBURY GOLF CLUB BRIDGE

This bridge is just wide enough for motor traffic and is reached down a track off the B6341 road. The golf course is across the river on the south side, and can also be reached by a road across the old bridge and past the hospital. The golf club was founded in 1891 and has recently become an 18 hole course and has a new clubhouse. It was near here that the Rothbury Races were once held, the final meeting being on 10 April 1965.

In the distance the Simonside Hills can be seen to the south. This is walking country and Simonside, Ravensheugh and Tosson Hill can all be climbed. From these heights there are views to the north of the Cheviots.
