FELTON A1 BRIDGE

"At the moment of writing this bridge is now almost completed .... thus restoring to the village of Felton a degree of tranquility which it richly deserves.

Built as part of the Felton Bypass this bridge is on the re-aligned A1, and to the west of Felton village.

It is high above the Coquet on steeply wooded banks and about 200 yards long. On crossing the bridge the road then continues north to Alnwick on dual carriageway. It was designed by Harris and Sutherland and built by the firm of Balfour Beatty.
