KILLHOPEHEAD BRIDGE

The first bridge on the Killhope Burn, the biggest of the two tributaries merging at Wearhead to form the River Wear, is on the steep ascent to the summit near Killhope Cross. The burn runs in a deep gulley under the bridge which is a sturdy iron bridge supported on stone abutments.
