CROXDALE BRIDGE

Erected by Durham County Council about 1924, it is on the A167 road, formerly the Great North Road or A1. It is similar in construction to both the Lambton A183 bridge and Swalwell Bridge in County Durham (now Tyne and Wear).

Croxdale village is nearby and there is a walk to Butterby Wood past Croxdale Hall on the Weardale Way and to Low Butterby by the river.
