BURTREEFORD BRIDGE

The small village of Cowshill is less than a mile from Wearhead just near Burtreeford and the Burtreeford Bridge crosses the river here on a minor road leading to Blackcleugh and the Burnhope Reservoir. It is a nice stone bridge and the hills rise up on either side of the valley. On the north side of the bridge are old stone houses and a farm.
