Bridges On The Tweed

HEARTHSTANE BRIDGE

Of almost identical construction to Patervan Bridge about a mile north of here, this bridge gives access from the A701 to Hearthstane and a track continues south to Tweedsmuir. The bridge has a 'weak bridge' sign at the western end while at the other end are ramps with a 10 mph speed limit.

There are wooded banks and hills lie on either side of the river. The Hearthstone Burn runs into the Tweed just downstream.
