Bridges On The Blyth

WHINNEY HILL FOOTBRIDGE

This footbridge is located south of Whinney Hill Farm and crosses the river beside a field with open land to north and south. Close by are three large pools of water which may once have been part of the course of the river which is uncharacteristically straight at this point.

The present bridge is a complete rebuild of an earlier bridge, which had a timber sleeper deck and steel beam supports.
