Bridges On The Derwent

EBCHESTER FOOTBRIDGE

A new footbridge erected by Durham County Council in 2008 replacing stepping stones. It lies along a short track leading past houses near the two road bridges, and links with another path leading to Broad Oak Farm and Blackhall Mill. The girder bridge rests on two stone pillars with a wooden superstructure and with steps at either end.

Next to the footbridge is a football field. The old stepping stones can still be seen in the river.
