Bridges On The Wansbeck

MIDDLETON MILL FOOTBRIDGE

This bridge links a footpath from the small village of Middleton to the north with a path to Corridge and the Bolam road. It replaced the original footbridge demolished in 1996. Farmland is everywhere and the public footpaths climb away uphill to north and south. There is a ford slightly downstream and the deserted medieval village of South Middleton is nearby.
